Michigan football has a couple of quarterbacks you could call top targets in the 2026 class but one of them is Brady Hart who just finished a multi-day visit with the Wolverines.
Hart also visited Clemson recently and the Tigers became the favorite with a crystal ball from 247 Sports as well as an expert projection for the On3 recruiting prediction machine.
Before the commitment of Noah Grubbs to Notre Dame, the Fighting Irish felt like the favorite for Hart. So Michigan football seemed like another natural contender and the Wolverines reinforced that this past weekend with their visit.
However, this recruitment got even more interesting on Monday as Ohio State entered the fray. Hart was in Columbus for a camp and to workout for the Ohio State staff. The four-star quarterback ranked No. 92 overall according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, performed well enough to get an offer.
The Buckeyes don’t have a quarterback committed yet in the 2026 class and if they are going to prioritize Hart, who is 6-foot-4, and a talented pro-style passer, it will make winning his commitment even more difficult for the Wolverines.
Another 2026 quarterback to watch for Michigan football
While Hart just visited this past weekend and is a top priority in the 2026 class, another is Brady Smigiel out of Newberry Park, California who is ranked 53rd overall in the 2026 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.
Ohio State, Georgia, and a bunch of other elite programs are in the mix for Smigiel who is taking a visit to Michigan football this week along with his family.
“This is a serious visit for this family. I’m not bringing all my kids out if it wasn’t,” Joe Smigiel, father of Brady said to Zach Libby of The Wolverine.
Michigan football seems to be in a decent position for each top-100 quarterback but it will be important to land at least one.
