Today marked the start of Big Ten Media Days in Indianapolis, IN. The 2023 season essentially starts now, with the final game of the Big Ten season being played in the same stadium as this week’s press conferences. During his time on the podium, Ohio State star wideout Marvin Harrison Jr. had a chance to comment on the OSU versus Michigan football rivalry.

Marvin Harrison Jr. is considered to be perhaps the best player in all of college football and is undoubtedly seen as one of the best, maybe even the No. 1 player, in the Big Ten conference heading into the 2023 season. That said, his Ohio State Buckeyes are currently on a two-game losing streak against Michigan football heading into the season, which is something the entire OSU program is looking to change.

During media day on Wednesday, this prominent Ohio State star shared his thoughts on the program and its urgency to reclaim the Michigan football rivalry ahead of the new season.

“That’s the one game you have to win,” Ohio State star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. said of the Ohio State-Michigan football rivalry on Wednesday. “… Even the team up north (Michigan football) game. Even though there were some big plays, it’s really that we were just inches away from a Big Ten title here, getting a catch here, or getting the first down there. So I think it’s really just little things. We just gotta bring them all together.”

Harrison is right in a sense — if Ohio State had beaten Michigan football, they would have advanced to the Big Ten title game and likely defeated Purdue, just as Michigan did. However, the Buckeyes laid an egg and fell at the hands of Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines by a score of 45-23, so we will never know for sure.
