Michigan football has landed eight commitments in the month of June which has caused the Wolverines recruiting ranking in the 2025 class to jump from outside the top 50 to No. 15 overall.

That’s probably not what you’d expect after a national championship but with a new head coach, it’s not a bad start. Signing Day is still more than five months away and some other major recruits have been trending in the Wolverines direction.

Julius Holly is the latest blue-chip commitment for Michigan football. He was the 10th in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.

That’s the same ranking used to determine the Blue Chip Ratio and if you combine the signings/commitments of the 2024/2025 recruiting classes, Michigan football has 27 blue chips out of 39 total commitments.

That’s 69 percent. Since any team over 50 percent can win the national championship — if they can do it over four years — the Wolverines are recruiting just fine.

So who could be next?

Predicting the next Michigan football commitment

Three 2025 Michigan targets will decide over the next three days. Hardy Watts and Andrew Olesh are each expected to announce their commitments on Monday.

The Wolverines are the leader for Watts, a four-star OL who is 6-foot-6, 300 pounds. Clemson is the other contender. U-M also leads for Olesh, who is ranked No. 130 overall in the 2025 class, as well as fifth among tight ends.

Alabama is making a late push but Michigan football has been leading with expert projections and crystal balls. We’ll see if those hold but my guess is that the Wolverines land Watts and Olesh on Monday.

That would make an impressive haul in the 2025 class look even better and by Early Signing Day, a top-10 class is a distinct possibility. Marco Jones is also a name to watch on July 2nd and the Wolverines could have three commitments in the first three days of July if all goes well.
