Semaj Morgan is fired up by all the doubters of the Michigan football passing game going into the 2024 season.

A hot topic of conversation among Michigan fooball fans and pundits is whether the Wolverines can get quality play at the quarterback position.

The defense should be elite, especially with all the reinforcements added over the last few days. But winning another championship will depend on the play at quarterback.

Some people expect Alex Orji to be the starting quarterback for Michigan football next season. Others want Davis Warren, while Jack Tuttle is another name to watch this fall.

There are pros and cons with each. I feel like Orji offers the most upside. Michigan football has dabbled with the QB run game, but with Donovan Edwards and a true running quarterback that teams would have to defend — Michigan didn’t make them defend J.J. McCarthy in that regard enough — the rush offense could be scary good.

The passing game will get there. Being able to run the ball at an elite level will open things up for the quarterbacks, plus guys like Colston Loveland and Semaj Morgan.

Morgan played a big role as a freshman last season for the Wolverines and he’s expected to be among the top wideouts in 2024 for the defending national champs. However, in a recent interview with Anthony Broome of The Wolverine, he pushed back on the concerns about the quarterback and wide receiver positions.

Michigan football WR confident in quarterbacks

“Nobody outside of Schembechler Hall knows shit anyway. Whatever you’re hearing, it is what it is, because we got some stars, and you’re all gonna see them when the season pops up,” Morgan said.

Morgan also said he’s confident in the Michigan fooball offense, regardless of who plays quarterback.

“I’m confident. Everybody in our room and our quarterbacks, especially our quarterbacks, I’m confident in. I feel like we can follow any one of our quarterbacks into the fire. And we can throw any receiver out there when it comes to crunch time. When the season comes, you’ll see. A lot of people might think they know something based off seeing who left and all that. They don’t know shit.”
