One of the most promising developments for Michigan football recruiting in the 2025 class has been the recent trend of crystal balls and expert projections in favor of the Wolverines to land top-50 wideout Andrew Marsh.
Marsh is a 6-foot-1, 175-pound wideout from Katy, Texas. He’s dynamic and had double-digit touchdowns last season, as well as nearly 1,000 yards receiving.
Marsh visited Michigan football multiple times during June. There was an unofficial visit and an official visit following the decision by Marsh to cancel a trip to Oklahoma.
Confidence rising for Michigan football with elite wideout
That’s when you started to feel the momentum shift in the Wolverines’ direction. After that visit, EJ Holland and Steve Wiltfong of On3.com each projected Michigan football to land the dynamic receiver.
Sam Webb of The Michigan Insider recently logged a crystal ball prediction too, which further increased the confidence, or should of Michigan football fans in where U-M stands.
Webb talked about the prediction and also the timeline of Marsh. Originally, Marsh was thinking about a November decision date. That could still happen, but there is talk of an earlier timeline which would also seem to favor Michigan football. Webb also indicated on the Michgan Insider Podcast that his interview with Marsh’s mom should have Wolverine fans feeling good about their chances.
“And when you read his mom’s interview that I’m going to post… man… it’d be a dereliction of duty for me to not put in a Crystal Ball after doing that interview. (People would be) like, ‘wait a minute, what is a Crystal Ball if you can’t put in a Crystal Ball after this interview, Sam?!’ That’s how much she really talked up Michigan. Now again, my initial reluctance was that he was going to be deciding in November (because) that’s a lot of time between an official visit and a decision. But his mom was also talking about him moving up his decision timeline. He might take some other visits in that span, Washington being a school that was mentioned. But he’s also going to take another trip back to Michigan, and that will be a huge land!”
It would be a huge land but predictions aren’t commitments and the Wolverines still have to close.
