When it comes to Jim Harbaugh’s 2024 recruiting class, a number of prominent names stand out — Jadyn Davis, Jordan Marshall, and other elite prospects are the top names that come to mind. That said, the elite class is full of studs, including less-known three-star Michigan football commit Micah Kaapana, who continues to impress nationally despite being one of the lower-rated backs that Harbaugh took.

Three-star Michigan football commit continues to impress

When Micah Kaapana first committed to Michigan football, there were a few people among the Wolverines’ fanbase who simply could not get over the fact that he was a three-star. At the time, it appeared that Michigan was a real contender for four-star running back Taylor Tatum — the No. 1 ranked back in the nation — yet opted for three-star Micah Kaapana instead.

Regardless, Kaapana has been impressive ever since and is proving to be a valuable addition to the 2024 Michigan football recruiting class. So far on the season, Kaapana has carried the football 24 times this season, totaling 311 rushing yards (nearly 13 years per carry) and four touchdowns. If that was not impressive enough, the Michigan football commit has caught seven passes for an additional 92 yards thus far heading into his next game, which is slated to kick off tonight.

Micah Kaapana is on the rise in the 2024 recruiting class

While Micah Kaapana is not the most well-known or talked about Michigan football commit in the 2024 recruiting class, keep an eye on the rising star running back as he continues to shine throughout his senior high school football season. As all Wolverines fans know quite well, this is exactly the type of player that Jim Harbaugh likes to turn into a star once he reaches Ann Arbor next year.

For the time being, per the On3 recruiting rankings, Micah Kaapana is rated as a three-star running back in the 2024 recruiting class — he is ranked as the No. 46 running back in the nation and the No. 1 player in the state of Nevada.
