Top Michigan football QB target projected elsewhere

2026 four-star QB Brady Hart got one projection to Michigan football but it has now flipped to Clemson, along with other projections.

Brady Hart sounds like the perfect name for a Michigan football quarterback. The 2026 signal-caller will visit Ann Arbor later this month.

There was even an expert projection for the Wolverines after Notre Dame took another 2026 quarterback. The Irish had been the favorite for Hart. Now, it appears that Clemson has grabbed the lead following a visit, a crystal ball, and an On3 expert projection.

Mike Singer, who covers Notre Dame for On3.com, and who first put in the pick for Hart to Michigan (with low confidence) has changed his prediction to Clemson with 60 percent confidence (out of 100).

Tom Loy of 247 Sports has also put in a crystal ball projection for Hart to commit to the Tigers. The 6-foot-4, 180-pound pocket passer is ranked 92 overall in the 2026 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. Hart is also ranked as the seventh-best quarterback in the class.

2026 QB trending away from Michigan football

It might seem early to be talking about 2026, but when it comes to quarterbacks, there’s just an earlier timeframe. You don’t want to be sitting in June of 2025, still looking for your 2026 quarterback.

That’s where Michigan football found itself back in the 2022 class. Then, it spent 2023 focused on Dante Moore before whiffing. That’s why Michigan is hosting 2026 quarterbacks for visits this summer. The summer after the sophomore season is when U-M established itself as the favorite for Davis.

There was hope they would do the same with Hart. Michigan football will still get its chance. Hart is coming for a multi-day visit, but so is Troy Huhn (109 overall, 10th QB) another four-star quarterback who will visit U-M on June 17th.

Honestly, by the end of June, we should have a good idea of where Michigan stands with its top targets but after landing a top-15 QB in 2024 and 2025, I’m not overly concerned. Kirk Campbell will do it again.
