Now that we are approaching a recruiting dead period and the official visit season is over for now, we should start to get more clarity on top recruiting targets for Michigan football.

We have already seen the Wolverines land commitments from three official visitors last weekend, along with four-star running back Donovan Johnson, who committed last weekend after a mid-week visit.

Other recruits are talking about commitment dates. Four-star tight end Andrew Olesh, who is ranked No. 130 overall in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, said in an interview he’s looking at an announcement on Monday.

Alabama is pushing hard for the fifth-ranked tight end in 2025, but Michigan football is trending with crystal balls and if a decision comes Monday, I like the Wolverines’ chances.

However, the chances are starting to fade with 4-star safety JaDon Blair. Blair was one of the Michigan football official visitors during June. The Wolverines seemed to impress the talented defensive back on his visit too.

The 6-foot-4, 190-pound safety out of Winston Salem, North Carolina, visited Michigan, Penn State, Florida State, and Notre Dame in the past month. Notre Dame hosted him first and the Irish have maintained their lead as a slew of crystal ball predictions in favor of the Irish have been logged.

Steve Wiltfong of On3.com also projected Blair to Notre Dame in May and there doesn’t seem to be any reason to change that prediction. now. The On3 prediction machine currently gives the Irish a 72-percent chance to land Blair’s commitment.

A commitment date hasn’t been set but I would expect one relatively soon.
