Goldin dominated then-No.22 UCLA to the tune of 36 points (career-high), and led his team with 19 points against Washington. The Russia native has been a force in the paint, but he also made two three-pointers last week. Here are Goldin’s averages over the past week:

The Big Ten announced on Monday that Goldin was co-player of the week alongside Iowa’s Payton Sandfort and USC’s Wesley Yates III. He also won the award for the week of Dec. 9, 2024.

Michigan head coach Dusty May coached Goldin for three seasons at FAU before they both moved their talents to Ann Arbor. May said he tries to appreciate certain aspects of Goldin’s game.

“His ability to catch and finish is something that I personally won’t take for granted,” May said at a press conference Monday. “Turn on a game, and he catches these tough passes – low, high, on the run, on the move – (and) doesn’t have any idea who’s behind him (or) what’s behind him. The way he contorts his body and moves the ball (with) either hand, or he sees space and just rips the rim off.”
