Yet Another Shot At Michigan Football Fans From ESPN

Yet again, ESPN is taking shots at Michigan football fans and more.

It’s no shocker that ESPN is not fond of the University of Michigan; after all, they have their business ties with the College Football Playoff and SEC, and the Wolverines are the Big Ten’s top title contender right now. That said, Paul Finebaum often takes things to a whole new level when it comes to bashing the Wolverines’ coaching staff, U-M as an institution, and Michigan football fans in general. Today, that trend continued.

Michigan football fans slandered on ESPN

This is what Paul Finebaum said about Michigan football fans earlier today that has so many on social media and beyond quite upset with the network and more.

“(Michigan) is the most obnoxious fanbase in America,” Paul Finebaum said on ESPN on Tuesday. “This is a fanbase that literally thinks the world revolves around the University of Michigan football program. You can’t judge a university by those who tweet about it, but I’m going to.”

Childish shots from Paul Finebaum

Paul Finebaum then proceeded to start rattling off the type of comments about Michigan football that are usually seen from Twitter troll accounts — you know, the “SECfanLuke18868993729” type of accounts that have no profile picture and 31 followers.

“Michigan has what — one and a half national championships in about 70 years? Alabama and Georgia won one while we were talking here. And (Michigan) looks down on everyone — (U-M) is a good state school, big deal! But, its football program is really becoming just comical in terms of what it’s trying to represent out there.”

At this point, it’s pretty clear that Paul Finebaum (and perhaps others at ESPN?) is actively rooting against Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines right now. In fact, I can hardly blame him — if the Maize and Blue beat Ohio State, win the Big Ten title again, and even claim a national championship this season, Finebaum won’t ever hear the end of it from Michigan football fans after all of his derogatory comments about the school, program, and fan base.
