Today, 247 Sports released a list of their top 10 committed quarterbacks in the 2024 recruiting cycle. Sitting at No. 1 on the list was 2024 Michigan football quarterback Jadyn Davis, who recently pledged his commitment to the Wolverines on the final day of March.

So far in the 2024 recruiting class, the Michigan Wolverines are the only program to land a commitment from a five-star quarterback. Jadyn Davis — the No. 2 quarterback in his class — is rated as a five-star prospect by 247 Sports and is ranked as one of the top players in the country. Additionally, he is the No. 1 player in the state of North Carolina for the 2024 class.

Davis will come to Michigan football as the successor of former five-star and current starting quarterback JJ McCarthy, who just finished his first season as a starter in the Maize and Blue. During McCarthy’s 2022 campaign, he led the Wolverines to a 13-1 record (most wins in program history), a blowout win over Ohio State, a second-consecutive Big Ten title, a CFP appearance, and more. If everything pans out, Jadyn Davis will be the first five-star QB to ever replace a five-star QB at the University of Michigan — it was supposed to happen with Chad Henne and Ryan Mallett, though Lloyd Carr’s retirement caused Mallet to transfer and the deal fell through.

Based on the 247 Sports rankings list that was released on Thursday, 2024 Michigan football quarterback commit Jadyn Davis is the best-committed quarterback in the class. Behind Davis is four-star QB Julian Sayin, who is committed to Alabama.

There are two other Big Ten quarterbacks on 247’s top 10 list: four-star Air Noland of the Ohio State Buckeyes and four-star Marcos Davila of the Purdue Boilermakers.
