5-star EDGE eyes another visit to Michigan football

Now that Michigan football has its coaching staff in place, you can expect a lot more activity on the recruiting trail from the Wolverines.

Sherrone Moore made it known that he’s going to be more aggressive on the recruiting trail as Michigan football head coach than this predecessor, Jim Harbaugh.

It’s not that Harbaugh wasn’t aggressive on the recruiting trail. Moore just has a chance to do things differently. That means offering some different players, recruiting different areas, and just using more aggressive tactics, which we have seen with the additions to the recruiting department.

All the little things matter in recruiting. NIL matters too and Michigan football is getting more aggressive in that department too, without doing the pay-for-play.

At any rate, we are starting to see the recruiting efforts of Moore pay off. Some targets are scheduling visits, including a blue-chip running back and that’s not all.

5-star EDGE to visit Michigan football

Zach Libby of The Wolverine reported on Tuesday that Nathaniel Marshall, a five-star EDGE according to the 247 Sports composite rankings is eyeing another visit to Michigan football.

The 6-foot-4, 265-pound standout out of Oak Park, Illinois, has visited the Wolverines twice in the past. One of those visits was the 2022 win over Ohio State. Miami, Notre Dame, and Illinois are some of the top contenders via the On3 prediction machine.

Sherrone Moore conducted an in-home visit with Marshall in January. Libby reports that the hire of Greg Scruggs should be a positive for Michigan football. Yet, an unofficial visit this spring, followed by an official visit this summer, would be the best path to a commitment.

EDGE players have had plenty of success at Michigan, which is another selling point or should be for Sherrone Moore, Greg Scruggs, and the Wolverines.
