The signing of the 2025 recruiting class may still be more than a year away, but it has already become a prominent topic in the college football world. This is particularly true for Michigan football recruiting, as they have a significant advantage with the nation’s top recruit residing right in their backyard: Bryce Underwood, a five-star quarterback from Belleville High School. However, the competition for Underwood’s commitment has intensified recently, with both the Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers extending offers to him within a few days this week.

No. 1 Michigan football recruiting target lands new SEC offers from Alabama, Auburn

In recent developments, two prominent SEC programs, the Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers, have made enticing offers to Bryce Underwood, a highly sought-after five-star quarterback.

Underwood is currently the top target for Michigan football recruiting, regardless of class, and has yet to commit to any program. It’s worth noting that Underwood’s proximity to Ann Arbor, being just 20 minutes away, has generated significant interest from both him and Jim Harbaugh, the head coach of Michigan football.

According to the early predictions of ON3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, Michigan football is currently blazing a trail towards securing the coveted commitment of Bryce Underwood for their 2025 class. As the frontrunners in the scorching world of recruiting, the Wolverines have set their sights on Underwood in hopes of obtaining a five-star QB in back-to-back classes.

But let’s not forget, it’s still early in this electrifying process. Like a wild storm brewing, there’s a chance of unexpected changes if the Wolverines’ quarterback roster becomes a tempest of talent, particularly with another five-star recruit already locked in ahead of Underwood (Jadyn Davis). The heat is on, and only time will reveal if Michigan’s fiery pursuit of Underwood will burn bright until the very end.

Now, to be clear, these offers change nothing for Michigan football. Underwood is likely to receive offers from every single D1 program, considering he is the nation’s top recruit. However, it is starting to sink in that the Wolverines are about to face a barrage of major programs knocking on their door, hoping to lure the young five-star talent away from his home state.

This weekend, four-star cornerback Bryce West, a major Ohio State recruiting target, will be in town for his official visit. Ahead of his visit, West named Michigan football as a finalist for his commitment, alongside several other top programs, including Ohio State, who is currently favored to land him. While things appear scarlet and gray right now, don’t count the Wolverines out just yet.

Michigan named a finalist for major Ohio State recruiting target

When it comes to Bryce West, a major Ohio State recruiting target, the Buckeyes appear to be the clear-cut frontrunner, leading with multiple predictions and more. That being said, West’s official visit to Columbus is not until June 23rd, meaning this weekend’s official visit to Ann Arbor is going to be a significant one for Michigan football.

Additionally, earlier this week, the Maize and Blue were named finalists for West’s commitment, making this weekend even more crucial for Jim Harbaugh and the staff.

Bryce West has been a top target for several major programs for quite some time now; however, all signs point to this being a Michigan vs. Ohio State recruiting battle at the moment. If the Wolverines can provide West with the best official visit of his summer this weekend, there is still a chance, as Jim Harbaugh still has his foot in the door.

Maize and Blue need a miracle

The seven teams still in the running for Bryce West are Michigan football, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas A&M, Alabama, USC, and Georgia. Landing West would be huge for Michigan football — not only would the Wolverines be getting the No. 2 recruit in the state of Ohio, but they would also be stealing a top-ranked recruit from the Buckeyes, something that has only recently started to happen in Ann Arbor.

Somehow, someway, the Maize and Blue need to find a way to pull off the upset during his official visit this weekend.

Michigan football is eagerly anticipating the commitment of another major four-star wide receiver for their 2024 recruiting class. The target in question is I’Marion Stewart, hailing from Chicago, IL. The Wolverines are currently in a strong position to secure his commitment, with the decision date set for June 16th, and an official visit coming up this weekend; adding Stewart to their roster would further bolster the team’s offensive capabilities with yet another highly skilled player.

Stewart is scheduled for an official visit to Ann Arbor this weekend, which could prove to be the decisive factor in his recruitment. If Michigan strategically handles the visit, they could potentially secure a significant offensive commitment a week later. Although Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin Badgers have been making a recent push for Stewart, it seems their efforts may have come too late, and the Michigan coaching staff remains confident in their chances of landing him.

According to the ON3 rankings, I’Marion Stewart is regarded as a four-star wide receiver in the class of 2024. He holds an impressive national ranking at No. 356, while standing at No. 58 among wide receivers and No. 7 among recruits from Illinois. He also has overwhelming odds to commit to Michigan when the time comes, sitting close to 96% in favor of the Maize and Blue per the RPM.

Michigan football’s ongoing mission is to build a strong recruiting class centered around five-star quarterback Jadyn Davis, who committed on March 31st. By adding talented weapons like I’Marion Stewart for Davis to throw to, the Wolverines position themselves favorably to compete for a national title in the coming years. The upcoming visit by Stewart holds immense significance for the team, and June 16th marks a highly anticipated date for all Michigan football fans, seeing as the Wolverines are closing in on yet another game-changing target.

This weekend, Owen Wafle, a three-star defensive lineman and ex-Notre Dame commit in the 2024 class, will be visiting Ann Arbor for an official visit. Michigan football is currently the frontrunner to secure Wafle’s commitment, with a significant number of experts and insiders predicting his commitment to the Wolverines. The ON3 Recruiting Prediction Machine gives Michigan an 82.9% chance of landing him — this visit presents an excellent opportunity for the Maize and Blue to solidify a new commitment.

Michigan football looking to land an ex-Notre Dame commit this weekend

Michigan football has been highly successful on the recruiting trail for the 2024 class, having secured 17 hard commits so far, which puts them tied for first nationally. Their recruiting class is currently ranked 2nd overall in the 247 Sports composite rankings.

A few weeks ago, Owen Wafle withdrew his commitment from Notre Dame, sparking a flurry of predictions in favor of Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines swooping in to acquire his talents.

A future Wolverine?

With Wafle’s official visit approaching, Michigan football has the perfect chance to secure his commitment. Wafle has expressed that the coaching staff has shown interest in him for various defensive line positions, and he has thoroughly enjoyed his interactions with the coaches and the team culture.

Now, the Maize and Blue need to go above and beyond in their efforts to secure the commitment of this 270-pound defensive line prospect.

According to the ON3 rankings, Wafle is considered a three-star prospect, ranking as the 71st-best defensive lineman in his class and the 15th-best recruit in the state of New Jersey. Keep an eye on this weekend’s visit, because big things may be in the works for Wafle and the Wolverines.
