Today, just two days after Michigan football recruiting hosted its famous BBQ at the Big House event in Ann Arbor, MI, the Wolverines have landed a new defensive lineman in the 2025 class. So far, like Michigan’s 2024 class, the Wolverines’ 2025 class is among the nation’s top 10 and now has three hard commits and counting. Bobby Kanka, a four-star defensive lineman out of Michigan, is the newest commitment for the Maize and Blue.
Michigan football recruiting lands blue chip in-state recruit
Bobby Kanka had long been favored to commit to Michigan football, but earlier today, it was made official. The Wolverines’ 2025 class, which ranks among the nation’s best, has the potential to be Jim Harbaugh’s best if the Maize and Blue can continue to rake in high-level targets such as Kanka.
Kanka is not yet ranked by every outlet due to him being in the 2025 class, though according to Rivals, he is a four-star defensive line target out of Howell, MI. He is ranked as the No. 6 player in the state of Michigan and the No. 17 defensive lineman in the country—needless to say, this is a great pick-up for Michigan football recruiting in their young 2025 class.
As a high school prospect, Bobby Kanka currently plays strongside defensive end, standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing in at over 260 pounds, heading into his junior year of high school football.
