ANN ARBOR, MI — There has been a lot of hype surrounding Michigan football recruiting as of late, and rightfully so. If you’re loving all of the good news surrounding the Wolverines’ recruiting efforts, you’ll be happy to hear that there is an elite 2025 athlete now projected to land in Ann Arbor all said and done.

Elite 2025 athlete LaMason Waller projected to commit to Michigan football

The Michigan football program has a good thing going right now when it comes to the 2025 recruiting cycle. The Wolverines have two commits thus far and rank in the top 10 nationally (No. 3 in Big Ten) — while the class is still a bit too far to see any huge commitments just yet, there’s one elite 2025 athlete that experts believe will commit to Michigan football by the end of the cycle.

LaMason Waller, a four-star athlete from Sultana in California, could be the next 2025 recruit to commit to Jim Harbaugh’s Michigan Wolverines. Despite being a 2025 prospect, Waller is already measuring at 6-2, 170-pounds — he ranks as the No. 68 player in the 2025 class, the No. 7 athlete in his class, and the No. 11 player in the state of California as far as 2025 players go.

Earlier this week, Brice Marich of 247 Sports placed a crystal ball (confidence level of six) for Waller to commit to the Michigan Wolverines. Additionally, the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine has Michigan and Oregon in a tight battle for his commitment; the Ducks sit at 20.8% while the Wolverines are at 18.2% — the next closest team is Arizona State, who sits at 8.2%.

Thus far, the elite 2025 athlete has visited many schools, though Michigan and Oregon lead the pack with two visits each; in fact, Waller’s most recent visit was his trip to Ann Arbor this past weekend. It may be a bit too early to tell with Waller, but he is expected to come to UM once the class wraps up, and is a name to watch during the 2025 cycle.
