At the beginning of this year, the Wolverines were forced to fire their offensive coordinator amid scandal. now-fired Michigan football coach Matt Weiss, who was let go for “computer access crimes,” is not at the University of Michigan anymore; however, his actions are still being looked at. Today, it was reported that the former Michigan OC is under FBI investigation, as well as involvement from the school’s police department, for whatever it was that got him fired from Jim Harbaugh’s coaching staff.

Yep — more scandal news for Michigan football broke this afternoon. This time, none of it has to do with the Wolverines’ alleged illegal sign-stealing scheme, which has been headlining the college football news cycle for the last week or so.

This time, it is former Michigan football offensive coordinator Matt Weiss, who was fired amid a police investigation earlier this year. Now, reports from the Detroit Free Press confirm that Weiss is still being looked into; in fact, he is reportedly under FBI investigation.

Per the Freep’s report, Matt Weiss has been under investigation by the FBI and the University of Michigan police department “for months.” Below is an email statement from the U-M police department.

“The University of Michigan Police Department has partnered with the Federal Bureau of Investigation regarding the Matt Weiss unauthorized computer access incident,” the statement reads, per the Freep.

While this is not related to the sign-stealing scandal, and Matt Weiss is no longer with the Michigan football program, it is perhaps yet another storyline for Wolverines fans to keep an eye on right now.
