This year, the Michigan football defense finished No. 1 in the nation in fewest yards allowed per game. The dominant defense played a huge factor in the program’s historic 15-0 season which finished with a national championship. However, the Wolverine defense is set to lose two key pieces of the secondary this offseason with cornerbacks Mike Sainristil and Josh Wallace both leaving. Recently, former Michigan football recruiting target Ephesians Prysock entered the transfer portal and could fill a big need at cornerback.

In 2022, Ephesians Prysock joined the Arizona Wildcats as a four-star cornerback recruit. Prysock had scholarship offers from many elite programs at the time, including Michigan. In fact, during his initial recruitment, Prysock took an unofficial visit to Michigan and even suited up in maize and blue.

This week, Prysock announced that he would enter the transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining. Last year, Prysock played in 13 games and amassed 61 total tackles, one tackle for loss, and one interception.

In addition to the loss of Wallace and Sainristil, Michigan recently lost cornerback Amorion Walker to the transfer portal. With so much roster turnover, Michigan could surely use help in the secondary from the transfer portal. Prysock could be a key target for Michigan as they look to reload their defense for next season.
