On Friday evening, another massive name was added to the Michigan Wolverines’ weekend visit list. Despite the list already being incredible and extensive, a new, bigger name was added: No. 1 2025 quarterback Bryce Underwood of Belleville, MI.

No. 1 2025 quarterback Underwood is added to Michigan’s weekend visit list

The Wolverines will be hosting a number of top players this weekend, though no prospect will be bigger than No. 1 2025 quarterback Bryce Underwood, the most-coveted in-state player around. Underwood is a 6-2, 200-pound quarterback from Belleville High School in Belleville, MI, just 25 minutes outside of Ann Arbor, MI.

Underwood is a 247 Sports five-star (composite) quarterback and is ranked as the No. 3 player in the nation, the No. 1 quarterback in his class, and the No. 1 player in the state of Michigan. Additionally, On3 ranks him as the No. 2 quarterback in the class and No. 1 player in Michigan.

According to the Recruiting Prediction Machine, Underwood’s top-3 schools are Michigan State, Michigan, and Ohio State — the Spartans lead right now (33%), though the Wolverines are hot on their tail (22.3%) and could close that gap with a good impression during Underwood’s visit this weekend. Underwood’s primary two recruiters at Michigan are offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore and quarterbacks coach Matt Weiss — two excellent recruiters.

Michigan has chance to close the gap during Underwood’s 5th visit

So far, the Michigan State Spartans lead in visits when it comes to the No. 1 2025 quarterback — MSU has five thus far. This weekend, the Wolverines will tie that number during Underwood’s fifth trip to Ann Arbor; additionally, Underwood’s last trip to Ann Arbor was on October 29th of last year, when the Michigan Wolverines routed the Spartans 29-7 under the lights at the Big House.

This weekend was already huge for Michigan football recruiting, but with Underwood making the trip, it just got a whole lot more important.
