In case you missed it, at the end of last week (Friday night), a number of future Wolverines began their 2023 high school football seasons. One such Michigan football commit is three-star running back Micah Kaapana, a prospect out of Las Vegas, NV, who rushed for over 200 yards during Week 1 of his senior season of high school ball. He may not be a big-name recruit like Jadyn Davis or Jordan Marshall, but Kaapana is proving to be a steal for the Maize and Blue in the 2024 recruiting class.

Less-known Michigan football commit Micah Kaapana goes off in Week 1, explodes for over 200 yards and a trio of touchdowns

On Friday night, Micah Kaapana got some heads turning on a national scale. If you are a “star watcher” when it comes to recruiting, you may want to look away because Kaapana may be better than many experts initially thought.

Michigan football commit Micah Kaapana, a three-star running back, ran for over 200 yards and three touchdowns last week in his school’s Week 1 victory over Draper Corner Canyon (63-42 final).

Here are a few clips from Kaapana’s impressive Week 1 performance that I found on Twitter — while he is not the most nationally recognized Michigan football commit in the 2024 recruiting class, he is bound to be a problem for opposing defenses for years to come once he gets into the Maize and Blue next year.
