Illinois Fighting Illini head coach Bret Bielema did not hold back this week while talking about the Michigan football scandal and sign-stealing allegations facing ninth-year Wolverine head coach Jim Harbaugh. As many fans recall, his team lost a nail-biter (19-17) in Week 12 last fall, and while Michigan and Illinois don’t play this year, the Illini coach still had a lot of strong words about the situation.

Illinois coach Bret Bielema grills Michigan football scandal

Bret Bielema is a Big Ten veteran — from his playing career to his coaching career, this conference clearly means a lot to him. When it comes to the Michigan football sign-stealing scandal, he didn’t hold back one bit in voicing his displeasure.

“If something has been going on off-campus — like it’s been noted they were going to our games before we played that game last year, that is sickening. It’s disgusting,” Bret Bielema said, per Matthew Stevens. “But I’ll let them (the Big Ten and NCAA) figure that part out. … “When the point in time comes when I can say something, I’ll have a lot to say,” he added.

We’re curious to see what Bret Bielema will say about Michigan football when the time comes, especially since the Wolverines will face the Illinois Fighting Illini on the road next October. For now, here’s a clip of Jake Moody lifting Michigan football past Illinois last fall en route to an 11-0 start to the season:
