Since arriving in Ann Arbor ahead of the 2015 season, Jim Harbaugh has emphasized excellence in all that the Wolverines do. From the classroom to the football field, the Michigan football program has excelled in many aspects, not just the players but the coaching staff as well. This week, Jim Harbaugh made a bold statement about his assistant coaches: all of them will be head coaches one day.

Jim Harbaugh claims Michigan football assistant coaches will be head coaches very soon

Jim Harbaugh and his assistant coaches are heading into one of the biggest seasons in Michigan football history. The last two years have been incredible for the Maize and Blue, but the time has come to kick things up a notch. The Wolverines don’t just want another Big Ten title; they want a national championship for the first time since 1997.

If Jim Harbaugh is to become the first national title-winning Michigan football coach since Lloyd Carr accomplished that feat over 25 years ago, the Wolverines need near perfection in all areas. Luckily, Michigan has some of the best assistant coaches in the nation to complement its elite 2023 roster, giving the Wolverines a great deal of hope for a season that exceeds expectations.

This week, Jim Harbaugh made bold statements about his coaching staff. According to the nine-year Michigan head coach, all of them have the potential to be head coaches and could even be appointed as soon as next year.

“I have total trust in the coaching staff that we have,” Harbaugh said per The Wolverine. “I’ll make a bold statement right now, if you want a bold statement, sometimes you like bold statements. Every one of our assistant coaches will be a head coach. I’d even say four after this season. The talent, the coaching acumen and talent are really good. I won’t put any limitations on Sherrone Moore, he’s so good. He’s so good.”
