When it comes time for high-level high school recruits to make their college decision, many factors are considered. Michigan football recruit Jadyn Davis recently spoke to 247 Sports about why he chose Michigan. The five-star quarterback had high praise for his future coach and spoke greatly about how strong his connection already is with Jim Harbaugh.

Jim Harbaugh is “almost like a father figure” according to Jadyn Davis

Jadyn Davis had nothing but high praise for his future coach. When asked about being recruited by coach Harbaugh, Davis responded with, “That’s my guy… I embrace Coach Harbaugh, I love him. He’s almost like a father figure to me.”

Coach Harbaugh’s previous experience playing quarterback was another draw for Davis. “Coach Harbaugh, he’s as good as they come. A guy that’s had pro experience, has been in the Super Bowl, has played the position, that’s unique for the quarterback position specifically… Only the guy that’s been back there knows what we’re seeing.”

The interview concluded with Davis saying, “Coach Harbaugh, I’m excited to play for him and can’t wait, I’ll run through a brick wall for him.”

Jadyn Davis praises Michigan football and academics

When asked about the decision process, Jadyn Davis made it very clear what factor was the most important. “Number one is education,” Davis told 247 Sports, adding “My mom has always been ‘no books, no ball’ with me and my siblings, so a school that had a great education.”

Davis then spoke highly of Michigan’s education and athletics by claiming “Michigan is pretty much an Ivy League education with big-time football as well”.

In addition to the academics, Davis spoke about the city of Ann Arbor and how the campus atmosphere was his second most important factor. “Number two was just the atmosphere. Being somewhere I can consider home, somewhere I can enjoy living if I didn’t have football.” Davis is excited to become a Wolverine and will join the roster for the 2024 season.
