Last week, Michigan commit Jadyn Davis was in Los Angeles for the Elite 11 finals, a prestigious skills event for the nation’s top recruits. Davis, a five-star commit for the Wolverines in the 2024 recruiting cycle, made a strong impression nationally and was named to the final Elite 11 list alongside other talented 2024 quarterbacks.

Today, ON3 released its superlatives for a few top performers at the Elite 11 last week, and Jadyn Davis was named the “gamer” of the group.

ON3 has received significant criticism for its low reviews of Jadyn Davis. Unlike 247 Sports, which ranks Davis as a top five-star recruit and one of the best quarterbacks in this recruiting cycle, ON3 believes that Davis is a four-star recruit and ranks him as the No. 115 prospect in his class.

However, despite these initial low ratings, Jadyn Davis seems to be garnering more positive attention from the prominent recruiting network following his performance at the Elite 11.

“Jadyn Davis had his best moments during 7-on-7 play on Day 3. The Michigan pledge was up and down on Day 1 and Day 2, but rebounded to complete 11 of 15 passes for four touchdowns on Friday,” wrote ON3 recruiting director Charles Power. “There were times early on where it appeared Davis was pressing or thinking too much.”

“He looked to play much better on Friday when he just let things flow and didn’t hesitate in pushing the ball downfield,” Power continued. “Davis has a pronounced throwing motion that led to some inconsistencies. He was at his best in throwing the ball over the middle and showed a good arm in that situation. The Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day product also made a few very nice corner passes for touchdowns, showing nice ball placement and touch.”

As many Michigan football fans are already aware, Jadyn Davis is anticipated to be the centerpiece of the Wolverines’ 2024 recruiting class. The five-star quarterback is expected to succeed JJ McCarthy, another five-star Michigan commit, in either 2024 or 2025 when McCarthy moves on to the next level.
