On Saturday, the Michigan basketball team was all but eliminated from NCAA tournament contention with a one-point loss to the Indiana Hoosiers. Michigan’s loss was its 11th of the season — its record now sits at 14-11, and it seems as if the Wolverines’ only chance of making the tournament would be to win the Big Ten tournament and earn the automatic bid.

The loss felt indicative of how this season has gone for the Michigan Wolverines thus far — despite Michigan handing in with the 18th-ranked Hoosiers throughout most of the game, a sloppy final play created a low-percentage shot, which ultimately fell short and lost the game.

It would take a miracle for Michigan basketball to make the NCAA tournament at this point; the season likely comes down to either winning out or winning the conference tournament — the Wolverines will have plenty more opportunities from here; however, the margin for error has dropped to zero.

Here is what Michigan basketball fans and fans around the country had to say after the loss.
