The 2023 college football season is at the forefront of the news cycle right now, but in the back of everyone’s mind is the 2024 NFL Draft. For Michigan football, many of its star players will be eligible to go pro after the upcoming season, including star senior running back Blake Corum, who stands out as a potential Heisman Trophy candidate and is gearing up for a massive season this fall.

Blake Corum ranked as the 3rd-best back in the 2024 NFL Draft class

According to college football analyst Phil Steele, one of the most trusted voices in college football, Blake Corum is one of the top running back prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft class. In his newest 2024 draft rankings, Phil Steele places Blake Corum among the top 3 running backs in his class, ranking at No. 3 nationally. He comes in behind Braelon Allen (Wisconsin Badgers, No. 1) and Raheim Sanders (Arkansas Razorbacks, No. 2).

Last fall, Blake Corum rushed for over 1,460 yards and 18 touchdowns, leading his Maize and Blue to a perfect record heading into the Ohio State game before being sidelined with an injury. He was named Michigan’s MVP last year and broke a few Wolverine records. For instance, he rushed for five touchdowns against UConn — he also ran for over 240 yards against Maryland.

This season, Michigan football running back Blake Corum appears poised for a major year with the Wolverines and should be a top NFL Draft pick. However, his size and skill set may not align exactly with what many NFL teams are looking for, which could mean that he finds himself outside of the first few rounds of the upcoming draft.
