The Michigan football ‘Maize Out’ game has been gaining momentum over the past few seasons. The Wolverines had an impressive 31-10 performance against the Washington Huskies in 2021 and a program-defining 41-17 victory against the No. 10 Penn State Nittany Lions last fall. Today, it was pointed out that the Wolverines’ schedule website appears to have a Maize Out date for the 2023 season. The Maize and Blue are slated to have this special annual event against East Carolina during Week 1 of the new campaign.

Michigan football will start the 2023 season with a Maize Out game

The Michigan football Maize Out game is a significant date on the Wolverines’ athletic calendar. Maize and Blue faithful decorate The Big House with a vibrant display of color. In previous years, Michigan’s on-field performance has matched the crowd’s energy, making this event even more special for the fans and players.

According to Michigan’s ticket website, this year’s Maize Out game will be held during Week 1 against East Carolina. While ECU may not be the strongest opponent to showcase this event, Michigan football will likely illuminate its iconic stadium with Maize for the start of the coming season.

As mentioned, last year’s Michigan football Maize Out game was against a top-10 Penn State team, which finished the season with an 11-2 record. The Wolverines emerged with a convincing 41-17 victory, further fueling the excitement surrounding this annual display of allegiance for Wolverines fans.
