Over the weekend, the No. 2 Wolverines downed the Minnesota Golden Gophers on the road, picking up their 6th win of the 2023 season. After the game, Minnesota coach PJ Fleck said that Jim Harbaugh and his team were the best that he has seen during his long head coaching career — today, the Michigan football coach reacted to Fleck’s post-game comments.

Michigan football earned a 52-10 road win on Saturday — not only did the Wolverines’ offense out-score Minnesota but Jim Harbaugh’s defense (which scored 14 points of its own) did as well. PJ Fleck was impressed, to say the least, with the Wolverines after the game, prompting him to give a lot of praise and credit to Michigan for its impressive win.

Today, Jim Harbaugh had a chance to react to what Fleck said.

“Good, thank you,” Jim Harbaugh said in response to Minnesota coach PJ Fleck. “I have a lot of respect for Minnesota, I think they’re a heck of a good team. We were really on our game, and it was great to get the win. We came out pretty healthy, too, from the game. And yeah, just better. Really impressed with — (Michigan football is) better each week, getting better and better.

“Guys are locked in, really apparently locked in,” Harbaugh continued. “I see that in practice and in games, and I feel like we can keep on that trajectory. It was very good to come out of that game with seeing the evidence that the team is improving, constant improvement. It’s a successful way to go about things, I mean, improvement will lead to success theory, and we want to keep doing that.”

Shifting focus to Indiana in Week 7

This week, Michigan football must shift its focus from Minnesota to Indiana, as the Hoosiers will be in town this Saturday for a Week 7 matchup. Not to look too far down the road, but next weekend will be a night game in East Lansing against the Michigan State Spartans, which will be a solid test for the Maize and Blue before getting a bye week in Week 9.
