The Maize and Blue are off to a hot start this year, currently boasting a national ranking of No. 2 with a perfect record through two games so far. Tomorrow, the Wolverines will take the field at Michigan Stadium, lovingly known as ‘The Big House,’ once again; this time, they’ll face Bowling Green, who is coming to Ann Arbor to wrap up Michigan’s 2023 non-conference slate. For the first time in program history, the school has installed new LED lighting with Maize and Blue lights to match. For Michigan football fans, this means a special game day experience is in store tomorrow.

Michigan football fans in for a historical game day experience tomorrow

Michigan football will host Bowling Green tomorrow for the team’s first night game of the year. If that isn’t exciting enough to get the fans going, the Wolverines are also debuting their new colored LED lighting, which will flood the stadium with a new Maize and Blue look during halftime and more.

Last weekend, while in the press box for Michigan’s 35-7 victory over UNLV, I saw that the school broke out the colored LED lights for ‘Mr. Brightside’ between the third and fourth quarters. However, since there was a lot of daylight outside, there was little visual change unless you were staring directly at the lights themselves.

Tomorrow, given that there will be no daylight for the game, these new Michigan Stadium lights will be on full display, treating all Michigan football fans to a special, first-ever experience at the Big House. The Wolverines did not officially install lights at the stadium until the last 15 years, and now, the iconic and massive stadium has received yet another modernized renovation.

When the Wolverines take the field tomorrow, all eyes will be on Michigan football, which looks to improve to 3-0 with a win over Bowling Green. That said, during touchdowns, halftime, and more, be on the lookout for displays of color and light shows throughout the stadium, as the school aims to enhance the fan experience once again.
