During fall camp, new names and faces will emerge as rising stars and breakout candidates for the coming season. Right now, Michigan football freshman wide receiver Fredrick Moore, a former three-star wideout from Jim Harbaugh’s 2023 signing class, is making a name for himself. He has been turning heads throughout practices so far and recently found himself on the receiving end of an impressive touchdown pass from quarterback JJ McCarthy in a clip that made its way to social media.

With junior quarterback JJ McCarthy entering a crucial season — both for himself and for the program — the Wolverines are currently searching for more receiving depth. One name that continues to be mentioned during fall camp is Michigan football freshman wide receiver Fredrick Moore. He wasn’t the highest-ranked wideout in his class, but he is already generating significant buzz ahead of his first year in the Maize and Blue.

“I’ll start with three of the freshmen — Fredrick Moore, Karmello English, and Semaj Morgan — those three have really come in and inserted themselves right off the bat,” Jim Harbaugh said earlier this week. “They’ve taken reps with the ones, they’ve taken reps with the twos. They’re not playing like freshmen. Karmello and Fredrick and Semaj, their ability to get out of a break, we haven’t seen that for many freshmen, let alone too many receivers that have come through here with their ability to track the ball. Fredrick Moore’s ability to track the ball is as good as I’ve seen…”

Yesterday, for the first time since the start of fall camp in Ann Arbor, Michigan football fans got a glimpse of how Fredrick Moore may impact this year’s offense and quarterback JJ McCarthy.

With wide receiver depth at a premium and this Michigan football freshman wide receiver on the rise, expect to hear the name “Fredrick Moore” called quite a bit throughout the coming season, which will kick off in exactly two weeks.
