Today, Aaron Scott, a top player nationally and the No. 1 recruit in the state of Ohio, announced his commitment. While the Wolverines appeared to be major contenders in this race down the stretch, the Ohio State Buckeyes ultimately won, though not before Scott had a chance to troll Michigan football during his announcement.

Michigan football gets trolled by Aaron Scott during commitment announcement

This evening had been highly anticipated by fans of Michigan football and the Ohio State Buckeyes alike. Both teams had made a strong pitch to Aaron Scott, who ultimately chose Ryan Day’s squad. However, his pre-decision antics left Wolverines hopeful until the very end.

Before his final decision was made, Aaron Scott picked up a Maize and Blue Michigan football backpack, opened it up, and pulled out an Ohio State jersey to put on, making his decision official. While Scott had been favored to join the Buckeyes for quite some time, that moment still stung for Michigan football fans, as the Wolverines seemed to be genuine contenders until the last second.

Missing out on Scott was somewhat expected for Michigan football and its impressive 2024 recruiting class, though any loss of this caliber hurts a bit more, especially when the Wolverines are trolled like this at the very end.

Per On3, Scott is the No. 29 player in the 2024 class, the No. 4 cornerback, and the No. 1 recruit in the state of Ohio.
