Yesterday, the annual Michigan football recruiting event, the ‘BBQ at the Big House,’ took place in Ann Arbor, MI. The event saw the attendance of many top recruits from the 2024 and 2025 classes, as well as some other attendees, such as the legendary Charles Woodson. Among the notable visitors was David Sanders, a five-star offensive tackle and 247’s No. 1 recruit in the nation for the 2025 cycle. Notably, Sanders is a high school teammate of Jadyn Davis, Michigan’s elite 2024 quarterback commit.

Providence Day High School in North Carolina has produced several top-ranked prospects — prospects like Sanders that the Wolverines are eager to secure in the coming class. Alongside long-time Michigan football commit Jadyn Davis, Sanders was also in Ann Arbor yesterday to get a better feel for the Wolverines’ program, which has reportedly caught his eye. Being the No. 1 recruit in the nation, David Sanders is one of the most coveted prospects out there, making him a priority target for Jim Harbaugh and the coaching staff.

According to the 247 Sports rankings, David Sanders is currently the No. 1 recruit in the nation, though he still trails five-star Bryce Underwood, a quarterback from Belleville, MI, who remains the top prospect in the composite rankings. The Wolverines appear optimistic early on about their chances of landing Sanders, especially since his high school quarterback, Jadyn Davis, has already committed to Michigan, and his high school offensive line coach is a former Wolverine.

During yesterday’s event, Sanders had his first experience in Ann Arbor, proudly wearing the Maize and Blue. For Michigan football fans, this could potentially become a significant recruiting victory in the upcoming cycle and is absolutely a top recruitment to watch in the 2025 class.
