According to Michigan football head coach Jim Harbaugh, the 2023 roster could be his best to date as the head coach of the Wolverines. Today, at the Big Ten Media Day, Michigan’s 9th-year head coach gave insight into where his team stands heading into the fall camp, set to begin on August 1st and 2nd.

Jim Harbaugh gives general update on Michigan football ahead of fall camp

The 2023 Michigan football team is expected to be Harbaugh’s best yet, a massive expectation considering his last two teams both won the Big Ten title and appeared in the College Football Playoff. Today, Harbaugh broke down how his team is looking heading into the fall camp, which will be the final period of preparation for Michigan football ahead of the coming season.

“I think our team’s as healthy as you could ask for — very talented, extremely hard work ethic,” Jim Harbaugh said today. “And no one of them wants to hear about what they did last year, or the last two years. It’s always ‘Coach, we’re doing it again, we’re doing it now, and now’s the time that matters.’ So that’s the kind of attitude and effort and talent that we’re taking into this the start of this training camp.”

This update is fantastic news for the Michigan football program, especially since the Wolverines have faced their fair share of injury issues throughout the offseason thus far. Most notably, it sounds like Blake Corum, Will Johnson, and Donovan Edwards are all looking healthy, which will be essential for the Wolverines as they pursue another conference title and more this fall.

Additionally, despite the high expectations, it appears that Michigan football is staying focused and tuning out the noise, whether it be positive or negative. This year’s team is hardworking, talented, deep, and hungry, making it a potential national title-caliber combination for the Maize and Blue this fall.
