Michigan football made the cut list of another 2025 cornerback on Saturday and that’s Jahmari DeLoatch, a three-star prospect according to the 247 Sports Composite rankings.

Out of Chesapeake, Virginia, DeLoatch is ranked 540th overall. He’s also No. 51 among cornerbacks at 5-foot-10, 160 pounds. However, 247 Sports’ evaluation has DeLoatch ranked much higher at No. 222 overall. We have had this debate plenty, but even with Jim Harbaugh gone, I trust the evaluations of the Michigan football coaching staff much more than I do of recruiting analysts.

Joining Michigan football in the top five were Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Cincinnati, and Vanderbilt. DeLoatch doesn’t have a decision date yet.

Where does Michigan football stand with Jahmari DeLoatch?

The Wolverines have to be viewed as the favorite in this recruitment. No disrespect, but U-M is much more prestigious than any of the other programs in the mix. Michigan is the defending national champion and none of the other programs, except Cincinnati (now in the Big 12), have come close to the College Football Playoff.

All of the crystal ball projections (three of them) are favoring Michigan football at this point. EJ Holland and Zach Libby of The Wolverine have each put in expert projections favoring the Wolverines for the On3 prediction machine. The prediction machine gives the Wolverines a 99.5 percent chance of winning DeLoatch’s commitment so he could easily be one of the next to join the 2025 class.
