This week, former five-star Michigan football commit, Jadyn Davis, a highly sought-after quarterback target who announced his pledge to the Wolverines back in March, saw a significant drop in the rankings. On Monday, ON3 released its new recruiting rankings for the 2024 cycle, which saw some Michigan commits rise, such as RB Jordan Marshall, while others fell.

Michigan football QB commit Jadyn Davis drops in new recruiting rankings

A few months ago, Jadyn Davis was a composite five-star quarterback, ranking as one of the best players in the nation according to all four major recruiting services. However, Davis has been steadily dropping recently, with a notable plummet in the ON3 recruiting rankings. Following June’s Elite 11 finals in Los Angeles, Jadyn Davis experienced a substantial 73-spot drop in the latest national recruiting rankings, falling from No. 115 in the country to No. 188.

As many Michigan football recruiting fans are aware, ON3 has consistently ranked Davis lower than outlets like 247 Sports and Rivals. Nevertheless, this drop is a significant blow for Davis, as he went from being a national five-star prospect to a mid-rated four-star quarterback in the 2024 recruiting class.

Currently, Davis is only rated as a five-star by Rivals. According to the new ON3 recruiting rankings, he is considered a four-star quarterback, ranking as the No. 188 player in the nation, the No. 13 quarterback in the 2024 class, and the No. 5 recruit in the state of North Carolina.

While this is not ideal for the Maize and Blue, it’s important to remember that recruiting rankings don’t necessarily dictate long-term success. Michigan football believes they have something special with Jadyn Davis, and his true potential will be showcased in 2024 and beyond.
