2025 five-star OT Ty Haywood commits to Michigan

Florida State was the other team to watch during the process, according to 247Sports’ Mike Roach ($). Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore and offensive line coach Grant Newsome led the way in recruitment. Haywood had been committed to Alabama since July 14, and he completed the switch about a month after Michigan upset the Crimson Tide at the ReliaQuest Bowl.

Haywood is the second five-star offensive lineman to join the Wolverines out of the 2025 high school class, alongside Andrew Babalola.

Michigan now has 24 incoming players from the prep level: Haywood, Babalola, wide receiver Jamar Browder (FL), defensive back Elijah Dotson (MI), defensive back Shamari Earls (VA), offensive lineman Avery Gach (MI), quarterback Chase Herbstreit (OH), EDGE Julius Holly (GA), running back Donovan Johnson (GA), defensive lineman Bobby Kanka (MI), wide receiver Andrew Marsh (TX), EDGE Nate Marshall (IL), defensive lineman Travis Moten (KY), tight end Eli Owens (TN), linebacker Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng (MD), running back Jasper Parker (LA), defensive lineman Benny Patterson (IN), defensive back Jayden Sanders (TX), offensive lineman Kaden Strayhorn (MI), linebacker Chase Taylor (GA), quarterback Bryce Underwood (MI), wide receiver Jacob Washington (LA), defensive back Kainoa Winston (Washington, D.C.) defensive back Jordan Young (NC).
