Since his debut against Indiana in 2018, Jake Moody has become a Michigan football legend. He has turned heads nationally, earning the reputation as the best kicker in college football over the past two seasons. During his final season in the Maize and Blue, Moody converted 29 of his 35 field goal attempts, with a long of 59 yards, and made all 148 extra point attempts during his four years with the Wolverines. It is worth mentioning that Moody was drafted 99th overall in the NFL Draft, almost 100 spots higher than Tom Brady was drafted.
Wolverines add 8th transfer portal addition with Michigan native
This weekend marks the end of the spring transfer portal window, and Michigan football was able to secure their eighth and final transfer: former Saline High School standout James Turner, who spent the last few years playing for Louisville in the ACC.
At 6-foot, 205 pounds, Turner brings his reliable kicking ability to the Wolverines, and his successful tenure with the Cardinals is evidence of his skill. In his most recent season with Louisville, Turner hit over 90% of his field goals (20/22) and was accurate on 97% of his extra point attempts (38/39).
Turner’s consistency and accuracy make him a valuable addition to Michigan’s special teams unit, and fans are looking forward to seeing him in action in the upcoming season.
