Jake Moody has been a standout kicker for the Wolverines for a few seasons now. After another great year in Ann Arbor last season, Moody finished off his eligibility and will now be heading to the NFL Draft. Jim Harbaugh’s team has few question marks right now, though one of these is his kicking and punting situations. In a good bit of Michigan football transfer portal news, a standout ACC kicker and MI native entered the portal yesterday and could be a top target for the Wolverines to fill a major team need.

Michigan football transfer portal target: MI native James Turner

MI native James Turner is a 6-foot, 205-pound kicker out of Saline, Michigan, right in the University of Michigan’s backyard. During his time with Louisville, Turner proved to be quite reliable and helped the Cardinals to an 8-win season in 2022.

During his most recent season in the ACC, MI native James Turner was over 97% accurate on his extra points (38/39) and over 90% accurate on field goals (20/22). He will be entering his fifth season of college football and has requested that schools do not contact him, meaning that he likely already knows where he will commit. This could mean that Michigan football has already locked this thing down, and a new major addition could be coming to the 2023 Michigan football transfer portal class.
