Today, the recruitment of elite safety Jordan Johnson-Rubell took a significant step forward as he revealed his five finalists. Johnson-Rubell, an impressive four-star prospect from the esteemed IMG Academy, has garnered attention from top programs across the country. Among the contenders still in the running for his commitment are the USC Trojans, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Michigan football program led by head coach Jim Harbaugh. Here’s what you should know about this highly regarded four-star safety.

Michigan football named a finalist for elite safety in 2024 class

Jordan Johnson-Rubell is an elite four-star safety in the 2024 recruiting class and is widely regarded as one of the nation’s top recruits. According to the ON3 industry rankings, Johnson-Rubell holds a four-star rating, placing him at No. 148 among recruits nationwide, No. 12 among safeties in his class, and No. 22 in the state of Florida.

Michigan football has been actively recruiting in several southern states recently and is making significant progress in securing another major prospect from IMG Academy.

According to the RPM (Recruiting Prediction Machine), the current frontrunners for Johnson-Rubell’s commitment are Texas, TCU, Ohio State, and Michigan, in that order. However, the Longhorns seem to have a substantial lead with an almost 91% chance of securing his commitment. Given that this highly sought-after safety recruit hails from Fort Worth, TX, the strong interest in Texas programs is quite understandable.

Nevertheless, as the official visit season approaches, the Wolverines still have a chance to make an impression. For now, Michigan football remains in contention as a finalist and is competing with several other prominent programs for his commitment.

His top five choices are: Michigan football, Texas, Texas Christian, Ohio State, and Southern California.
