Michigan football recruiting: Another elite quarterback target will be in Ann Arbor next week

Next weekend, when the dead period lifts, Michigan football recruiting will end the month of July with a massive slate of visitors for its annual ‘BBQ at the Big House’ event. So far, many of the nation’s top 2025 targets have confirmed unofficial visits with the Wolverines for July 30th, including ESPN’s No. 1 quarterback recruit and 247’s No. 1 overall recruit in the nation. Another elite prospect who has confirmed a visit with Michigan for next weekend is highly regarded quarterback target Ryan Montgomery, who is also being heavily pursued by Ohio State and Michigan.

Michigan football recruiting hosting another elite quarterback target next weekend

Ryan Montgomery is a 6-foot-3, 210+ pound quarterback recruit in the class of 2025, ranking among the top players in the state of Ohio. Michigan football would love to land Bryce Underwood, the No. 1 quarterback in his class and a native of Michigan; however, if the Wolverines miss out on Underwood, they consider Montgomery as a top replacement option.

According to the Recruiting Prediction Machine, Michigan football, Ohio State, and Penn State are all among the top teams competing for Montgomery right now, with the Wolverines currently leading the way. Reports indicate that this elite quarterback target will be in Ann Arbor next week, which presents a huge opportunity for the Maize and Blue as they focus on the 2025 recruiting class.

Among the notable recruits coming to Ann Arbor soon, few are more significant for Michigan football fans than four-star Ryan Montgomery. Currently, according to the ON3 industry recruiting rankings, Montgomery is the No. 208 player in the nation, the No. 15 quarterback, and the No. 8 player in the state of Ohio.
