Today, Jim Harbaugh added another major piece to his solid 2024 recruiting class: Deyvid Palepale, a three-star defensive line commit, is the latest win for Michigan football recruiting ahead of National Signing Day. Michigan flipped the PA target from the USC Trojans on Saturday evening.

The 2024 recruiting class is nearing its end right now, though Jim Harbaugh and his staff are still hard at work in hopes of locking down a number of the nation’s top players. During July, USC beat both Michigan football and Penn State for a massive 310-pound defensive line target: Deyvid Palpale out of Landisville, PA.

Seeing as USC is joining the Big Ten next fall, and the Trojans‘ defense was subpar this season — to say the least — this is a notable loss for Lincoln Riley and his USC staff. On the other hand, Jim Harbaugh and Jesse Minter just landed a potential key piece to their elite defense, especially seeing as the Wolverines have some veteran tackles in the middle already, who could both help Palepale develop during his time in Ann Arbor.

Per the On3 recruiting rankings, Deyvid Palepale is ranked as the No. 78 defensive line target in the 2024 recruiting class and the No. 19 player in the state of Pennsylvania. He becomes the 26th commit for Michigan football recruiting in this cycle, bringing Harbaugh’s class up to 16th in the latest team rankings.
