All of the major recruiting services have been moving around prospects in the 2024 class when it comes to the national recruiting rankings. Included in these new summer changes is a new No. 1 commit for Michigan football recruiting ahead of the 2023 football season.

Michigan football recruiting has a new No. 1 commit, per the updated industry rankings

Over the past few months, the No. 1 commit in the 2024 Michigan football recruiting class was Jadyn Davis, previously rated as a five-star quarterback. However, recent ranking drops have demoted Davis to a four-star in the industry rankings and the composite rankings, something that the Wolverines’ future QB will be looking to change in the coming months.

On the other hand, a different elite Michigan football commit has been on the rise ahead of his final season of high school football: four-star Ohio running back Jordan Marshall. Marshall was one of the most significant recruiting wins of the Jim Harbaugh era for the Maize and Blue. He was a major target for the Ohio State Buckeyes, and despite being an Ohio recruit, he opted to commit to the Wolverines.

According to the newest industry recruiting rankings update, Jordan Marshall has surpassed Jadyn Davis as the No. 1 commit in the 2024 Michigan football recruiting class, establishing himself as a prospect to watch for Wolverines fans throughout the coming season.

Currently, Marshall is ranked No. 56 nationally, No. 3 among running backs, and is the No. 3 player in the state of Ohio, according to the industry rankings. Conversely, Jadyn Davis has fallen to No. 65 nationally, No. 7 among quarterbacks, and is the No. 1 player in the state of North Carolina.

Despite what the rankings may indicate, both of these future Wolverines are among the nation’s elite talents and should be aiming for significant roles within the program once they arrive on campus for the 2024 Michigan football season.
