The Wolverines’ 2024 recruiting class is currently ranked as the top national class, boasting 15 hard commits with more expected to join. With ten four-star recruits and one five-star standout in Jadyn Davis, it’s clear that Michigan football recruiting is firing on all cylinders. Their pursuit of four-star EDGE Brian Robinson, one of their top targets, has taken a positive turn as he recently announced his first official visits, with the Wolverines being the first team on the list. All signs suggest that Michigan is well on its way to achieving its goals in recruiting.

Brian Robinson has been expected to commit to Michigan football for quite some time now. He has visited the campus numerous times, and according to recruiting insiders, he is expected to become a Wolverine. Adding this massive, freak athlete in the Maize and Blue is crucial for Jim Harbaugh’s current recruiting class, which, despite its No. 1 ranking, could still improve.

Robinson is a significant four-star recruit from Austintown Fitch High School in Ohio. All four major recruiting outlets unanimously rate him as a four-star prospect, and his ranking matches his elite status.

According to 247 Sports composite rankings, Robinson is the No. 125 recruit in the class, the No. 11 EDGE, and the No. 4 prospect in Ohio. On3’s Industry Rankings also list Robinson as a top-five recruit in Ohio, while Rivals and ESPN both rank him among the top 3-5 prospects in the state as well.

In addition to his incredible talent, Robinson has a sizeable frame, standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing close to 260 pounds heading into his final high school football season. The On3 RPM gives Michigan football recruiting a 70.2% chance of landing Robinson’s commitment, and he also has four crystal balls (100%) in favor of the Wolverines on 247. His official visit is scheduled for June 2nd through the 4th.

Michigan football recruiting, official visit

Almost all fans of Michigan football recruiting are well aware of how important the coming month will be for Jim Harbaugh and his Wolverines as it marks the beginning of official visit season. The 2024 class already ranks among the top two nationally, boasting 17 hard commits, including the crown jewel and future face of the program: five-star quarterback Jadyn Davis. To kick things off, the Wolverines will be hosting a number of their top targets and could land a series of major commitments to start the new month.

Michigan football recruiting could kick off June with a bang

Of the five recruits slated to be in Ann Arbor this weekend, Michigan football recruiting is heavily trending towards landing two of them. Jacob Smith and Brian Robinson, both four-star defenders in the 2024 recruiting class, are expected to commit to the Maize and Blue when all is said and done. If Jim Harbaugh and the coaching staff play their cards right, they could lock down this pair of elite defensive stars to kick off the new month.

Alongside Jacob Smith will be his brother, Jerod Smith, who is already committed to the 2024 Michigan football recruiting class. This bodes well for the Wolverines’ chances of securing at least one commitment (Smith), and they’ll likely make a huge push for Brian Robinson as well, in an attempt to secure his commitment before he visits two other strong contenders in the coming weeks: Penn State and Kentucky.

Another official visit to watch

Another name to watch is Jordan Shipp, a four-star wide receiver from Providence Day High School, the same school as Jadyn Davis. According to the Recruiting Prediction Machine, Michigan football is among the top programs for his commitment but still trails NC State by a solid margin. However, this weekend’s visit could go a long way in turning the tide, and if Michigan is lucky, it could spark another much-needed major commitment in the 2024 class.

Heading into the official visit season next month, the 2024 Michigan football recruiting class ranks No. 2 in the country, boasting 17 impressive hard commitments thus far and counting. Right now, all signs point to the Wolverines landing even more of the nation’s top talent, including 2024 four-star edge rusher Aaron Chiles, the No. 1 recruit in Maryland.

Michigan football recruiting trending to land No. 1 recruit in Maryland during OV

Michigan football has long been expected to secure a commitment from the No. 1 recruit in Maryland, Aaron Chiles, which would further solidify the Wolverines’ claim as ‘EDGE U.’ Chiles, who possesses an impressive frame and matching talent, has been on Jim Harbaugh’s radar for quite some time now and appears to be on the verge of committing to the Maize and Blue in the month of June.

Next month should be an exciting one for Michigan football recruiting, as official visits usually bring a number of top commitments. Aaron Chiles is among those scheduled for a June visit to Ann Arbor, and there is no question that the Wolverines will be looking to finalize his recruitment and secure yet another major blue-chip commitment.

According to the 247 Sports rankings, Chiles is an impressive top-tier four-star defensive end, ranked among the top 75 recruits in the country. He is currently ranked No. 73 nationally, No. 6 among linebackers in his class, and is the No. 1 recruit in the state of Maryland. These rankings are impressive, and combined with his elite 6-foot-3, 220-pound frame, he possesses all the tools to become the next great pass rusher for the Wolverines.

Aaron Chiles, the No. 1 recruit in Maryland, is set to take his official visit with Michigan football on June 23rd, so expect the Wolverines to make a significant push that weekend to secure his commitment.

It’s also worth noting that there are only three schools remaining in Chiles’ recruitment: Michigan football, Florida, and Maryland. Among these, the Wolverines appear to have a notable lead of 93.6% in the ON3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

This weekend marks the beginning of official visits for Michigan football recruiting, a crucial time for Head Coach Jim Harbaugh and his staff. Four official visitors, including four-star California safety Marquis Gallegos, are scheduled for June 2nd-4th. Gallegos is a highly sought-after prospect by several prominent PAC-12 programs, making this visit an important opportunity for the Wolverines to make their case. Although currently trailing behind Oregon, USC, and others in the Recruiting Prediction Machine, Michigan has a chance to change the narrative with this weekend’s visit.

Michigan football recruiting looking to make a splash during official visit season

The 2024 Michigan football recruiting class stands out for its exceptional qualities, particularly the strong bond already formed among its members. With 17 hard commits, Michigan boasts the largest class and currently holds the second rank nationally. These committed players are united in their pursuit of a national championship and have been vocal about their ambitious aspirations in the Maize and Blue.

Joining a class like this holds great appeal for top-tier recruits such as Marquis Gallegos, who hails from California and plays as a safety. Being enveloped by the Maize and Blue atmosphere during an official visit to Ann Arbor can further enhance this appeal.

This weekend presents a significant opportunity for Michigan football to reverse its fortunes and emerge as a top contender in Gallegos’ recruitment, provided the coaching staff executes their strategy effectively.

A possible turning point with Marquis Gallegos

Presently, Michigan is viewed as the fourth-ranked contender in the race to secure Marquis Gallegos, trailing behind USC, Oregon, and Notre Dame according to the ON3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. However, this upcoming visit will be Gallegos’ second time in Ann Arbor, and the extended weekend trip could significantly strengthen Michigan’s position as a frontrunner.

Marquis Gallegos, a four-star safety from Chaminade High School in California, is highly regarded in the industry rankings. He holds the national rank of 223, is positioned at number 18 among safeties, and is ranked 17th among all recruits in the state of California. Although the journey to Ann Arbor, MI may be lengthy, it presents a mutually beneficial opportunity for all parties involved. Needless to say, a successful visit this weekend could be a monumental achievement for Michigan football recruiting.
