James Flanagan, the No. 2 player in Wisconsin, is a major Michigan football recruiting target in the class of 2025. So far, Michigan has been performing exceptionally well on the recruiting trail, currently boasting the nation’s 4th-ranked 2024 class and the 7th-ranked 2025 class — both impressive, to say the least. Today, Brice Marich confirmed that this top tight end target for the Wolverines will be visiting Ann Arbor next week for an unofficial visit.

Top 2025 Michigan football target will be in Ann Arbor next week, per reports

The 2024 Michigan football recruiting class is starting to slow down — Jim Harbaugh has already secured 26 hard commitments and counting, and most of the Wolverines’ top targets are either committed, leaning towards other schools, or off the board.

That said, the 2025 class is starting to come to the forefront, with many major targets — such as Bryce Underwood — taking center stage in the eyes of the staff. One of the top Michigan football targets in the 2025 cycle is four-star tight end James Flanagan, the No. 2 player in Wisconsin. According to new reports, this significant recruiting target will be visiting Ann Arbor to meet with Michigan football on the 27th.

According to the composite recruiting rankings, Flanagan is the No. 196 player in the nation, the No. 6 tight end in his class, and the No. 2 player in the state of Wisconsin. It may be early, but this is a huge opportunity for Michigan football to make a solid opening impression on this elite-caliber 2025 target.
