Michigan Football Recruiting Trending To Land New 4-Star

The 2024 recruiting class is shaping up nicely for Jim Harbaugh and his Wolverines, who currently have 26 commits in the class after flipping Deyvid Palepale from Southern California earlier this month. Now, it appears that Michigan football recruiting is trending to land a new target: four-star edge rusher Lugard Edokpayi out of Bowie, Maryland.

Michigan football recruiting closing in on another four-star commitment

At one point during the spring, the 2024 recruiting class for Michigan football ranked No. 1 in the nation, being headlined by five-star quarterback Jadyn Davis. Since then, Davis has fallen to four-star status, and Michigan’s class now ranks somewhere around the top 15.

That said, it is still an incredible class, and while it already has an enormous amount of commits, it appears that Jim Harbaugh is looking to add a few more; in fact, Michigan football recruiting appears close to landing another blue-chip target with Lugard Edokpayi.

RPM favors the Wolverines heavily for Lugard Edokpayi

Per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Michigan football is favored over schools like Maryland and Rtugers, with a 91.8% chance of landing Lugard Edokpayi. Much of this lead was spurred by an RPM pick from insider EJ Holland, who recently placed his prediction in favor of the Wolverines to land the four-star out of Maryland. There are 247 Sports crystal balls being placed in favor of Michigan as well.

Per the On3 rankings, Lugard Edokpayi is a four-star edge rusher in the class of 2024 — he ranks as the No. 180 player in the class, the No. 19 edge rusher nationally, and the No. 3 recruit in the state of Maryland.
