In a few weeks, the Michigan Wolverines will face Alabama football in the Rose Bowl (CFP) for a spot in the national title game — a massive opportunity for both programs. In the meantime, Nick Saban will be getting Bryce Underwood, the No. 1 Michigan football recruiting target in the country, on-campus for a visit with his team ahead of his commitment date, which is set for January 6, 2024.

The Rose Bowl game is perhaps the most anticipated college football game of the season, with Jim Harbaugh and Nick Saban facing off for a spot in the title game. While the game itself is massive and presents a crucial opportunity for both programs, recruiting high school talent must also remain a focal point for the two schools.

Bryce Underwood, the No. 1 recruit in the nation, plays high school ball about 20 minutes from Ann Arbor, yet his attention appears to lie in SEC country. Right now, with less than a month until he commits, LSU appears to lead the race, though it’s clear that Nick Sabana and Alabama are looking to make a late push as well.

Bryce Underwood announces he will be at Bama today

A few hours ago, the elite Michigan football recruiting target — who is ranked as the No. 1 player in the entire country by the composite and industry rankings — announced that he will be visiting Alabama football today.

The visit is likely a last push from Alabama, who would rather see Bryce Underwood land just about anywhere but LSU, to be frank. While Michigan football remains a contender here, it appears that the SEC has a lot of Underwood’s interest, and will be hard for the Wolverines to beat down the stretch.
