Yesterday was a crucial day for the Wolverines, who were without 9th-year head coach Jim Harbaugh due to a last-second Big Ten-imposed suspension, which came on Friday afternoon when Michigan was in the air en route to State College, PA. Still, Sherrone Moore took over and led the Maize and Blue to an impressive 24-15 win over the 10th-ranked Nittany Lions. After the game, Michigan football star linebacker Mike Barrett, a 6th-year senior, had a strong message for the nation.

Yesterday’s two-score win over No. 10 Penn State in Happy Valley was a statement victory for the Wolverines, who improved to 10-0 (7-0 in Big Ten play), even without Jim Harbaugh on the sideline. As the season progresses, the team may remain without Harbaugh for the next two games: at Maryland and vs. Ohio State.

“Be careful who you make the villain,” says Barrett

Regardless, Sherrone Moore clearly has the team in great hands, and Michigan football is fully embracing its role as the “villain” of college football. In fact, according to Mike Barrett, the media and opposing fans need to “be careful” about making Michigan the bad guy this year.

“You see where we at, man,” Mike Barrett said from inside Beaver Stadium right after Michigan’s impressive win. “All I gotta say is: be careful who you make the villain. Be careful who you make the villain.”

A third-straight Big Ten title run?

Michigan football and Jim Harbaugh are currently public enemy No. 1 right now in the eyes of many, especially those inside of the Big Ten Conference. Michigan has two more games, starting with next Saturday’s game at Maryland and followed by a Week 13 battle against Ohio State, to win in order to appear in a third-straight Big Ten title game and potentially make a run at this season’s national title.
