Heading into the 2023 college football season, few teams have higher expectations than the Wolverines do. The tools are all there for the Maize and Blue to claim a national title, including Michigan football veteran pass rusher Kris Jenkins, who is looking bigger, faster, and stronger than ever heading into the home opener next month. According to lineman Zak Zinter, one of the best guards in the game right now, Jenkins is looking elite.

Fall camp began last week for Michigan football, who will be kicking off the 2023 college football season in just 25 days. Yesterday, Zinter — along with a few other Wolverines —  met with the media in regards to fall camp and the coming season; there, the senior lineman had a lot to say about Michigan football veteran Kris Jenkins, who is looking bigger and better than he ever has before.

“Kris Jenks is an elite pass rusher right now,” Zak Zinter told the media on Monday afternoon. “The first few days getting the pads back on, he’s one of those dudes where it’s like, ‘Alright, I’ve gotta lock into my set here, because Kris is going to make a move.’”

Zak Zinter pins Jenkins as one of the best in college football

Not only is Kris Jenkins an elite pass rusher, but there might not be anyone better in the entire nation, according to Zak Zinter.

“I don’t think I’m going to get a better pass rusher on the interior than Kris Jenks all year, and I get to go against him in camp, all camp, and throughout the season, so it’s been great work.”

It’s also worth noting that Zak Zinter is arguably the best interior lineman in all of college football leading up to the 2023 season, so this is not baseless praise. After bulking way up to over 305 pounds ahead of the coming season, it appears that Kris Jenkins is in store for an incredible season as he looks to lead the Wolverines’ potentially elite defensive line to another Big Ten title and College Football Playoff berth.
