Michigan Wolverines football helmet ranked No. 6 in college football

The Michigan Wolverines football helmet is one of the most iconic helmets in college football. In fact, it is one of the most recognizable images in all of sports. It is classic, iconic, and much more, embodying everything about Michigan’s football program, which is the winningest of all time. While many would consider it the best helmet in the game, 247 Sports recently ranked it outside of the top 5 nationally, placing it as the 6th-best in the sport.

Earlier this off-season, 247 Sports ranked the iconic Michigan Wolverines football helmet outside the top 5 in all of college football. The Maize and Blue are accustomed to being recognized as one of the top uniforms and helmets in the sport. However, in these new rankings, their helmet is ranked No. 6.

If that wasn’t disappointing enough, Michigan football fans will likely be even more disheartened to learn that two other Big Ten programs have surpassed Michigan in these rankings. Ohio State’s helmet is ranked No. 1 nationally, while Penn State’s is just behind, coming in at No. 2. The other three teams ahead of Michigan football in these rankings are the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (3), the Miami Hurricanes (4), and the Alabama Crimson Tide (5).
