Yesterday, the Michigan Wolverines football program announced a self-imposed three-game punishment for its 9th-year head coach ahead of the 2023 season. Here is how social media is reacting to the Jim Harbaugh suspension news.

Michigan Wolverines football coach facing self-imposed three-game suspension during the 2023 season

Following months of battling against the NCAA over ‘Burgergate,’ as it is now known, there appeared to be no end in sight for Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines football program. The decision was moved to the NCAA infractions committee, which will meet and determine punishment sometime in 2024.

At first, it appeared that 9th-year Michigan Wolverines football head coach Jim Harbaugh was off the hook and would coach the entire 2023 season; however, yesterday, the school and Harbaugh agreed on a self-imposed three-game suspension, which will sideline Harbaugh for Michigan’s matchups against East Carolina, UNLV, and Bowling Green this fall.

Judging by statements released from Coach Harbaugh, the university, and a few players (who addressed the media yesterday afternoon), it sounds like the Michigan Wolverines football program is maintaining a positive outlook for the 2023 season despite all of this outside noise. That said, some fans are not too happy about this news, and appear to have an opposite mindset.

With the 2023 season just 11 days from kicking off in Ann Arbor, here is some of the latest buzz regarding the Jim Harbaugh suspension news and more.
