As all Michigan football fans know, the Wolverines’ top prospect in the 2024 class is five-star quarterback Jadyn Davis out of North Carolina. The Wolverines have seemingly been all-in for Davis as of late, though it now appears that another name is emerging due to connections from new QB coach Kirk Campbell, who was recently promoted after Matt Weiss was fired amid a university police-led investigation.

Jadyn Davis Is Not The Only QB That Michigan Football Is Recruiting

Michigan football appears to be pursuing a second big-name QB in the 2024 class: Four-star Michael Van Buren from St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, MD. According to The Wolverine, Van Buren was very excited about being contacted by new Michigan QB coach Kirk Campbell. Van Buren is a highly sought-after prospect — he already has an extensive offer list which includes Michigan, Alabama, Penn State, Tennessee, and more.

Van Buren is a four-star composite quarterback, ranked No. 104 nationally, No. 8 among quarterbacks, and No. 2 in Maryland in the 2024 class (247 Sports).

According to credible reports by 247’s Steve Wiltfong, the Michigan Wolverines are still in the lead for their top 2024 prospect: Jadyn Davis. Davis is reportedly visiting Ann Arbor a fifth time once this spring rolls around. Still, having a backup plan is never a bad thing for Michigan football recruiting, especially when your second option is one of the best quarterbacks in the class.
